Locksmiths: nothing is listed yet

The Swedish word is låssmed. This catalogue does not list any locksmith business. A firm is added only when the name, organisation number and contact details can be checked. Until then there is no city page for locksmiths, and no firm here should be treated as one.

Door companies are not locksmiths

Businesses that sell a säkerhetsdörr (security door) sit under builders on the Swedish site. That is a planned replacement, not someone who opens a lock tonight. Do not use a door-company page as if it were a locksmith.

If you are locked out

In a hyresrätt, call the landlord’s jour number on your contract or stairwell notice before you search for a stranger. In a bostadsrätt, the board or the caretaker (förvaltaren) often has a process for the stairwell door. For your own house, you choose the firm. Ask for the company name and organisation number before you agree to a night call-out, then look the number up at Bolagsverket.
